Communication Suite
My main role within EvotecHLS was the development of an upcoming product for conducting teleconferencing, call recordings, voice mailboxes and fax to email. This product was in its early stages with the previous developer leaving weeks before hand. I was taking on to pick up the project and bring it to a stage where it could be released for testing. When I arrived there was no PC for me to use so had to work with boss to convert a server so that I could use it as a PC by installing a graphics card and setting up dual monitors. There was also no systems for development so setup svn, Jira and confluence and troubleshooting user problems for other staff members within Evotec. The communication suite was written with open-source products meetme and asterix which had problems when merged with EvotecHLS themed menu so had to debug problems with Meetme to make it look like more of a professional projects and not a buggy opensource project. I learnt how Meetme worked with Asterix and updated it to fix bugs and add some features. I also then build servers for sending out to clients and debugged problems that Clients where having with voice recording and fax to email. I also was put on course to learn how HiPath 5000 IP phone systems operated and how to debug problems with them.
