It’s hard to believe that so soon you’re ten,
And not a baby no more
Without giving the matter the thought I should,
I imagined it was three or four.
But indeed you are more of a boy than that,
And fast becoming a man,
Takes two figures now to write your age,
And we hope it is in the Lords plan,
That healthy and sound you be,
Long years and years ahead,
Till the digits needed are three!
Great distance that, but for now we’ll say,
Every blessing and joy and sport,
On your first two figure day
