BREEGE

Our girl she comes of age today,
When twenty one she’s seen.
Behind her are the childhood days,
With teenages between.
How great to see her reach this stage,
She is an adult now
And that her future may be long
May providence allow.
There was some doubt about her health
The first day she arrived
How glad we were ‘twas not for long,
How glad that she survived.
And as she grew we oft sat down
And watched her many a while
Her face expressionless at times
Would soon turn on a smile
We saw her go to junior school
Her studies to pursu
And very well did she do there,
At secondary too
And after school though sad we were
To work she went away
But fond of home she’s always been
She comes back many a day
Her granddad who’s just passed awa
And whom she loved the best
Four twenty - ones was what he lived,
Before being called to rest
Oh may Breege live as long as that
And always wear a smile
And in that time may all her years
Be happy and worthwhile
