Mar 2011 – Present | Terramar Networks – http://www.terramarnetworks.com | |
| Senior PHP Developer Greysteel, Derry, Northern Ireland | |
| In this role I was taken on as the only in-house PHP developer after the previous in-house developer had left over 1 year previous. I was responsible for the website management of tracpoint.terramarnetworks.com. I had to liaise with other outside contracting PHP developers to add new features and resolve bugs with the Tracpoint website. One of my major accomplishments while working for Terramar Networks was overseeing the upgrading of the apache web server which had not been upgraded for over 6 years. This involved using methods that I implemented for maintaining consistency in the source code by using svn to manage code on the server, The previous method was using FTP which had caused a lot of inconsistent code that I had to remove. I was also responsible for implementing and installation of the Redmine bug tracking system on the web server to facilitate communication between departments. I moved into outside contracting with Terramar Networks after 8 months to gain experience working as a contractor.

| Applications Developer Kensington, Melbourne, Australia | |
| In this role I took over a project from a developer who had just left. The system was a Linux based system running Asterisks and I was developing a PHP web interface. The Project was still in its early stages so I was put in charge of setting up Confluence and Jira for documentation and SVN for version control. I was also responsible for bug fixing the previous developers Linux bash scripts and current customer’s problems as well as building servers for clients and visiting clients for training purposes. This role tested all my skills as an all rounder from Network admin, Customer liaising and Software development. I believe this role helped me develop my skills in managing a heavy work load.
